Material

925 STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver is a white, highly reflective precious metal composed of 92,5% pure silver and 7,5% alloy, usually copper. Copper provides the silver with sufficient hardness and wearing qualities, as pure silver is sometimes considered too soft to be used and worn every day. Our silver jewelry is nickel free.

OXIDIZED SILVER

Oxidized silver is a surface treatment on 925 sterling silver and gives a dark gray/black color. This gives the material a darker color. It is possible for the oxidized layer to fade over time due to wear and tear.

Oxy shiny is oxidized silver which is later polished giving it a light gray color. The deeper particles/rims of a piece of jewelry remain darker. This material is therefore more wear resistant.

GOLD PLATED

Gilding is the covering of an object with a layer of gold. This article is dipped in a gold bath which causes the silver to be completely covered with a layer of gold. Showing a beautiful glossy finish with a layer of real gold which is also called silverplated or goldplated. However, this is a minimal layer and can wear off depending on the acidity of your skin and the frequency of wearing the jewelry. Our gold plating is 3 microns.

GOLDFILLED

Goldfilled komt uit Amerika en wordt daar al langer gebruikt voor de Goldfilled comes from America, where it is already used for the manufacture of jewelry with a "touch of gold" for an affordable price. The Goldfilled remains on color, is durable and the 14karaats gold layer is thick enough to enjoy the warmth of gold for a long time. Goldfilled is generally well tolerated by people who are allergic to metals other than gold.

9 CARAT

The term carat indicates how much pure gold there is per 1,000 parts in a piece of jewelry. The higher this value, the more gold. In 9 carats there are 375 parts of pure gold, denoted by 375/1000.

According to waarborgwet Nederland, this is too low a content to call it gold. That is why we call it 9 carat.

14 CARAT GOLD

Jéh Jewels gold jewelry line is made of gold. This carat content is the most used in the Netherlands due to its hardness and color. Pure gold is too soft to make portable jewelry, therefore, other metals are used. Often silver and copper are used so that you can continue to speak of 'precious metals'. Gold has 585 of 1000 parts that are pure gold. The remaining 415 parts therefore consist of the other metals.

Red Copper

Red copper is a copper alloy that mainly consists of copper, with a very high copper content (generally ≥ 99%). In some applications, a small amount of other metals, such as zinc or tin, is added to improve mechanical strength, wear resistance, and workability. The material is nickel-free and has a characteristic warm reddish color. When exposed to air and moisture, red copper may oxidize over time and develop a natural patina, which does not affect the quality of the jewellery.

Brass

Brass is a copper alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. By adding zinc to copper, the way the material reflects light changes, resulting in its characteristic golden-yellow color. The exact shade can vary from warm gold to bright yellow, depending on the copper-to-zinc ratio. The material is nickel-free and may develop a natural patina over time due to oxidation, without affecting the quality or durability of the jewellery.
